Why did you call ‘me’?

I’m your friend for life.

So when someone calls I haven’t spoken to in years….

I listen.

And when the pause happens, I ask, why did you call me?

Some are taken aback the first time, but those who know me understand.

Well….I’m not sure why I called you?

Yes. You are sure.

You called because I will tell you the truth.

I will not tell you what everyone else tells you, nor will I tell you what you ‘want’ to hear.

So….are you ready for the truth?

Yes. They are ready.

And yes, it makes me smile.

Ask yourself this, when is the last time you called your mentor, that one friend who will tell you the truth?

And more importantly….what has taken you so long?
