In this social distancing time
I think of touch
I live alone
And miss it
The littlest touch
From a family member
Or a friend
A hug
A human interaction
The virtual meeting screen feels cold
The faces may smile
But the touch of one human to another
Missing
My daughter FaceTimes
‘Mom, hold my hand’
She says the words and I hold my hand up to hers on the screen
‘Don’t let go mom….’
And I promise her I won’t
Yes, we all miss it
Touch
