Less than, more than

What we are inside comes out

In the things we say

In how we treat others

In how we respond

Ever wonder what it would be like if instead of treating someone like they were ‘less than’ when they were struggling, we helped them up to become ‘more than’

It’s truly the same amount of effort

One producing positive results

The other producing negative results

Question is, which one are you?

Let’s talk pandemic dating….

To be completely honest here, I’ve not done much in this pandemic.

I jumped back in the ring just to try it out.

Postives:

More responses because what else can we do now?

Video chats, get to know someone over video earlier.

Basically, if they can’t carry a convo, you ditch them prior to that first date

In person meeting.

Well this has happened a handful of times and it is a bit more awkward.

To hug, not to hug.

Do you elbow bump?

And dates end early because let’s face it, where can you go past 10 pm?

So that’s a plus, no long dates that you have to find an excuse to get out of.

So there ya have it.

Pandemic dating all wrapped in a neat bow.

What has your experience been?

Retargeting….it’s a thing

In social media they talk about retargeting all the time.

Someone who has shown interest in you, get in front of them again

Does that make sense in life?

Sometimes we write off those connections we haven’t spoken with in a while

Those people we met that one time so long ago

But is it okay to check in and say hi to them now and again?

Nope, don’t have an answer for ya on that one.

Just wanted to get your mind to think a bit on it.

Single not taken

Single not taken?

Interestingly enough I’ve seen more posts about why we are single.

There has to be some reason.

We are either searching for someone.

Stuck getting over an ex

In a relationship that hasn’t gone to that marriage level as of yet

And that’s it.

Yet it’s not.

There are some of us that are single, not taken.

It’s not a sad thing, nor a bad thing.

We’re not sitting at home whining because we’re single.

We’re just perfectly fine living, breathing and functioning in this mode.

So hey there single, not taken.

Smile:)

Embracing me

Have you ever taken that step back and really looked at yourself?

In that mirror, see the reflection and just think….

Who am I looking at?

I’ve been doing that so much lately.

Covid has us trapped in our homes.

Social interaction really doesn’t seem to be a priority much anymore.

We all try but fall flat.

So who is that person in the mirror?

Why is it that she can’t see her true reflection?

Just a day to ponder I guess.

We all have these days.

Guess I’m embracing me today, or trying to.

The most important Valentine….

I sent out 9 cards this year.

Saving 1 card.

At first I wasn’t certain who it should go to…..

Then it came to me.

Myself.

What would I write to myself and seal up to be opened next year on Valentine’s Day?

What would you write to yourself?

It makes me smile that next year I have a card to open, one that is very loving and thoughtful.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.

Don’t forget to write your own love note.

Remain calm, in the event of an emergency….

It seems relevant

The standard warning on an airplane, the one we fail to pay attention to

Remain calm

Yet, no one has specifically shared with us to do so

In the event of an emergency…

You mean like the one we’ve experienced over the past year?

Wouldn’t it be nice to close our eyes and imagine this was all just a nightmare?

That it will all be normalized when we open our eyes?

That is not our reality.

What is our reality seems overwhelming at times.

Seems like a bad dream.

But if we take time to close our eyes, drift off to memories we love, perhaps we can recall just a little normalcy.

A little patience and calm.

Remember that calm before the storm.

Does it make you smile?

Yeah, that’s a place we can all visit at any time.

So remember that airplane warning as needed.

And go to your happy place.

We may just be on the same flight:)

What I wrote….

I purchased 10 blank Valentine’s Day cards this year.

Tonight, I wrote in 9 of those.

3 to my children, 3 to my family, and 3 to some long time friends living far away.

The last one is empty.

I struggled over who to send it to.

Then it came to me.

Myself.

A letter to be my own Valentine this Sunday.

To love myself more.

And I plan to seal it and save it for one year.

To see what I wrote.

Be my Valentine

It’s no secret this is prob my fav holiday

Why?

Well, I quite love who I am.

And even more I love sharing that with others.

Making someone smile on this particular day is quite fun.

It is expected from all of us, right?

We all secretly hope someone is thinking about us on this particular day.

And we do take a moment to think about people we love, so why not ask someone to be your Valentine?

It’s one day.

A day that can make someone smile.

And if you have no one to share your happy with on this day, shoot me a smile:)

Be my Valentine!!
